Company OverviewThe scarcest form of capital today is human capital. Venture capitalists won't put their money behind an idea until it is associated with the right talent, and Wall Street analysts alter valuations of Fortune 500 companies based on their assessment of executive talent. The markets for talent in business, science and technology, however, are inefficient, illiquid and imperfect. Innovations in the information revolution that will "mobilize the flow of capital" have yet to materialize.
The Monitor Networks Mission Monitor Networks connects challenging problems to talented thinkers. We help organizations innovate by drawing on a diverse network of business, science and policy leaders, and assist that network in finding opportunities. We do this through our expertise in designing, growing and learning from human networks. Today, we offer two families of services: Applied Innovation Networks: We design and build human networks to stimulate innovation and solve complex business problems. Talent Network: We generate economic and professional development opportunities for our talent clients — idea people — and provide organizations with access to this diverse talent pool. We also produce events bringing together corporations and thought leaders. We help you find ideas you wouldn’t otherwise discover by combining the thinking of a diverse business, science and technology talent network. This network also distills for the most valuable ideas. We do this by taking advantage of new behaviors and technologies people use to interact across networks. The other part of our business is to provide the talent that contributes to this thinking with new opportunities and relationships.
Our Relationship with Monitor Group Monitor Networks is a part of the Monitor Group. Our relationship allows Monitor Networks to draw on the Group's collective knowledge to help identify and interpret emerging trends in business, science and technology. The Group also creates valuable opportunities (e.g., consulting opportunities, speeches, new ventures) for our talent clients. Reciprocally, the Group benefits from the access it enjoys to our deep talent pool and our network-building expertise. These two factors enable the Group to expand its capabilities for the benefit of our clients. |
"At Monitor Networks, we take great pleasure in helping our clients to attack complicated business problems. Our approach is three-fold: apply a diversity of perspectives, recombine these perspectives, and then use selective pressure to squeeze out the most inventive and useful ideas." - Christopher Meyer
"The greatest innovation of the industrial revolution was limited liability, because that mobilized the flow of capital." - William Sahlmon |
